Default Quick Power Window ?

Howdy all. I took a peak in the archive, but didn't see anything specifically about what seems to be happening with my window. I am trying to roll the window down, and I basically get nothing. I think, though, I can hear the switch activating in the door, but no window movement. Is this an absolute sign the motor is dead even though the switch is working (again, I think)? Or is this something simple like a fuse for the motor itself (if there is one, which I didn't find)? I appreciate the help everybody, and hopefully the "easy-to-fix" news

Default Possibly a bad window regulator...

I don't really know what that is, but I've had a few go bad on other cars. You can still hear everything sound like it's working, but the windows won't move up or down. I've had some go out when the window was down, which is worse than being up. When it happened in our Jetta, I was able to get hold of the window and pull it up. Press the button slightly and it would move just enough to hold it in place. Luckily it didn't drop before I could get it to the shop. VW had a recall on those without any expiration, so on the Jetta is was fixed for free, even at around 90k.

Default try using the key in the door to raise or lower the window first.

could be the switch as well. does the window crack open when opening and closing the door?

also, if the key in the door works, try resetting the window by lowering it slightly, then raising it and holding the switch for a few seconds.

I will check that out. I already tried all the resets with the switches, but it isn't doing anything to the window. Thankfully, yes, the window is up. It is POORING rain here, so I'm ok for now not having it work. I'll check out the regulator when I get a chance to take the door apart I guess. Thanks guys, that reaffirmed my initial thoughts.

Default happened to me recently...so i had the regulator and the motor replaced...

the other part...the guides(?) were too expensive to change. what i've been told is that if the regulator goes, the motor may not be far behind in failure. apparently, the curvature of the window, etc. puts alot of pressure on the motor...which causes a regulator to go. since i had it opened, i swapped out both just in case.

Default Re: Quick Power Window ?

Hi All! I've got the same TT window problem and tried a lot of the recommends except replacing motor. New here - Any great Audi shops/mechanics in the East Bay or near Hayward hills, capable of fixing window problems, electricals and alignment? Thnx in advance.
