Default RE: help with rims for TT

Hello all,

I am about to purcase rims for my 2001 225Q roadster. I know the lug pattern for our cars are different with 5x100 and a 35 mm offset.

Now if I go 18s or 19s with the width at 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, what should be my desirable offset? I am purchasing these wheels online and do not want to mess up. I may do a big brake kit in the future but not right now.

second, will the staggered wheel combination affect the car's handling negatively? I do not think I have a choice since I am getting these.

thanks for the advice.

Default you better make sure that they have the correct bolt pattern (5x100) because it says for A4 and S4

and make sure they have 8.5 for the front, since 9.5 width won't fit up there. you can search for the offset calculator to make certain that the offset will fit...but for 8.5 width up front, you will need ET22 to ET25. not sure about the rear with the 9.5" width.

Default Re: Offset calculator here

great, thanks for the help everyone. Now will the thicker in the back staggered style adversely affect the handling characteristics?

Default Not as long as the circumference of the tires are the same on all 4 corners.

I suppose you could increase understeer because the wider tires in the back would make it more difficult to rotate the rearend, but I don't believe that it is significant.
