Reading the windscreen sticker, airbags good for 14 Y. When did they come out? Any cars expired yet?

During the mid 80's OEMs began installing airbags on some vehicles to meet
US govt passive restraints requirements. Remember the automatic seat belts. That was one way of meeting the law, airbags were the other.
