.......if you want the rear to be able to step out on the throttle. i've only driven about 100 miles so far and finally had a round about on ramp to get stupid on. i rolled around it in 2nd and hit it hard at the top. as boost spiked, i was rolling out of the corner and the rear stepped out great!! i don't know what it'd be like with a K04, but with my big turbo it takes some speed to be in boost in 2nd. it's exactly what i wanted. i wanted to be able step the rear out under throttle similar to what a STI will do. i was worried the Haldex would not do it since it's obviously not on all the time. combined with the Blue box, it does exactly what it should. again, i have an open front diff.
having previously a GTI with an LSD it might be slightly harrier in the wet. well at least with out modulating abit. i did also try alittle donut last night. rev it abit and nail first gear and it no longer does a neutral, gradual radius growing burn out. it does a full *** out, tight rotation.......similar to what Schwing can now relate with (just not as violent).
i've yet to feel the diff in a canyon setting or track, but i'm now very confident it'll be great. my first 60 miles on the thing left me wondering if I just wasted some money. if you're not going to be very violent or aggressive with the car, you'd for surely be wasting your money.
i'll post some pics of the stock unit tonight. it literally has a plastic surround holding the gears together!!! i'm surprised HPA hasn't exploded hundreds of these! that's all for now

SO..SO fun!
When i drove the R8 i noticed you could roll on 2nd gear and step the rear out at will. But unlike some of the rear wheel drive beasts out there, it was incredibly easy to bring back. This feels like that.
a few years back i drove a C5 Z06 on the track and noticed it was a pretty easy car to bring back in line as well. this is much easier. what's mentally odd though is you have to drive the TT as if you wanted to wad your vette. enter corner, roll on power FULL and turn in, catch slide...back to straight.

Go to VWvortex
in the mkIV R32 forum you can search for "peloquin" in the archive i believe. there are pictures and everything. you keep the unit on the car, you pull off both flanges and then you visit a press for the bearings. took my guy 2hrs w/o seeing it before.
