Default Removing a seat belt twist?

Hi, I have a 2001 TT Coupe with a single twist in the driver's side seat belt. The floor anchor appears to attach only one way (raised loop up), and the take-up reel doesn't appear to be hiding any twists at the upper end of the belt.

Is there a way to remove this, because the belt flange faces into the interior panel rather than out toward the driver. Passenger side is fine. I'm wondering if I have two passenger belts installed?

Thanks very much for any advice.

Dan

Default I have this too!

I was going to ask the dealer to fix it but I'm afraid to let them play with interior panels.

Default I had that...

1. pull the belt all the way out
2. put a twist in the belt by folding it diagonally over itself and hold the twist flat
3. make sure the twist is the correct sense by following the belt to the floor anchor, you'll know if you've done it wrong
4. carefully feed the twist back into the slot

Default The clip flips around...

You need to flip the buckle around on the belt, easy enough to do (which is how yours ended up "backwards."

Simply fold the seat belt in half and pull the buckle over the fold, and it will end up facing the right way.

It's a lot easier to describe than to do but should only take you about 30 seconds to do once you figure out what I'm describing. ;-)

Default Noooooooo >>>>

I did not just fall off a pumpkin soup cart!

This is DEFINITELY that the belt has a twist.

Exactly my thinking, David... I don't want to let them at my panels either. Do you think this belt is a passenger belt? It is exactly the same, except of course for the twist!

Do you think it's another passenger belt? They're exactly the same config!

Thanks, Matt, that sounds like it may do the trick, although did you find that this caused any binding in the belt take-up?

Yes, David, it really is a twist, not simply a rotated flange. What's with that? I wonder if everybody has this problem and just deals with it?
