Default removing the valves during a broke timing belt change>

the mechanic who is working on my broken timing belt is trying to remove the valves to see if there are any bent valves. in the process they have broken several drill bits, striped and sheared the bolts that hold in the valves. this is what i was told by the owner. they have spent most of the day trying to remove the valves to see if more are damage underneath. i know they have the valve cover off. i saw the valves and the tensioner. they pointed out that one of the valves had some seperation which i saw also. is it really that difficult to remove the valves? i spoke with the mechanic again and he can't get cylinder head off . i looked-up on line about a tool that removes this bolts. i told him about the tool and his responce is "i have been working on audis since the 80's and I have all the tools". If he had the the right tool it should have been removed by now. yes or no?

now i am somewhat out of my element in knowing the ins and outs of the engine. need advice on removing the valves out, cylinder head off . should i send car to audi dealership.

Default Huh? sounds like they are out of their element...>

You need to get the head off first. No drill bits are used in Valve removal. With the proper tools, this is not difficult...Remove the cams, compress the springs with the proper tool, remove the keepers and the valves slide out...

Sounds bogus to me. Remove cylinder head before you remove valves.

Don't let him get away with charging more.
