Replace Cluster
Well, the dealer is going to replace my Inst. Cluster today. The clock does not work... and the tach was delivered with a scratch in it. However, I am concerned that taking the dash off and putting it back on will results in sweeks... when driving. Any comments?
Also, the back window.. .skweels.. when being put up... is this common?

They don't take the dash off, they remove the 'lower dash'...
There are 2 screws in the cluster area, near the back of the wheel they need to get at.
that's all.
Don't worry, the car is designed to go back together very well, under the eye of a decent tech.
Do do a Follow-up: Most techs. seem to have a tough time getting the bottom, rear Torx screw back in.
This is inside the door, bottom of the fuse panel area.
If they fail to get this in properly, as it takes force, the dash *may* wiggle a bit.

See if they'll let you keep the old one!!! Assuming the information display works, I'm working on..
something similar to the tripcomp. I've been putting it off since I didn't wanna buy a new one to experiment on. I'll give ya 20 bucks + shipping if you can get it.
Purdy please =)
