Default Replaced the hose between the turbo and pressure pipe tonight and the clamp was loose again

My original hose had destroyed itself a couple years back (as a few other people have had happen) and at that time I replaced it with another OEM hose. It's a pretty nice part, for nearly $200 you think it would be.

This week I ordered a Forge hose for that spot (mod bug bit) and I got around to installing it tonight. I'll post some pics later this weekend but the interesting thing is the hose clamp on the bottom of the hose, where it attaches to the turbo was loose, I could turn the screw with my fingers. I know I tightened the snot out of that when I replaced it last time because it seemed like it had been loose from the beginning. Now I'm thinking that it just works itself loose over time.

The hose is basically compression fit onto the turbo and forced onto it because it's a 90^ fitting, the pressure pipe holds it down, so I don't think there was a boost leak but there was potential for movement. I think that's how the original hose destroyed itself overtime. The Forge is on there now but I think I'm going to get a t-bolt clamp for the bottom just to be on the safe side.

Is this the orange/red hose behind the silver flap in the back?

Default Thanks, I didn't even know this hose was back there until someone else pointed it out to me

a few months back on this forum. It seems really hard to get to. Do you access it from the engine bay, or from underneath?

Default From the engine bay

Strut bar out, pressure pipe out and having done a DV relo helps but it's still challenging. This was just a warmup for an FMIC install tomorrow

Default John, that FMIC install is actually pretty easy.

I found it to be much easier than doing the clear corners.

Default Not sure what FMIC you are going with but.......

if it's Forge, clearance is somewhat limited between the passenger side hose and the bumper reinforcement mount. I had to do some minor mods to get it all to fit. Also - remove the battery and box and charge pipe with the MAP sensor. Makes it so much easier to connect the hoses and get them tight.
