Revo recommends an after-market DV with their Stg 2 software. Is that for performance benefit? Or
Or because of durability issues of the oem DV?
I still have the oem DV for 2 reasons. First because my TT is a MY 2004 which is supposed to be DV-issues-free and second because the oem one is known to have the fastest response. So, do I still need to swap it for an aftermarket one, now that I got the Revo Stg 2 software? TIA

I think a few people will argue the fast response of the oem...
I am still running OEM DV with a boost machine but no chip, and I can definitely see room for improvement. if you haven't blown it yet, and don't see a need for an aftermarket, just leave it until it blows. but it's probably not holding boost like it should.

I can hold 22 psi boost 'till the cows come home
with my OEM 710N DV. I just bought a back up DV for $40.00, just in case. I'm thinking revo is puffing folks into thinking "mad boost" is gonna happen so you might has well be prepared with "tougher" dv.
