Rough idle on my a6... any ideas?
I have an 99 a6 i'm trying to sell, so I am trying to make sure it's running real nice when i show it... I replaced the plugs last night since the denso iridiums in it were kinda worn, but still, once in a while, not always, the idle is less than smooth. I notice it but other people who looked at it never noticed. I'm gonna clean the K&N tonight, any other ideas? Maybe the throttle body is sticky? MAF dirty? How can I clean the MAF? I know i can shoot some throttle body cleaner into the t-body, but I'm afraid I might trigger a CEL...
Any help is appreciated...

Would start with pulling the codes...
just because there's no CEL doesn't mean a code hasn't been stored.
If you're selling it, get rid of the K&N, and make sure you're using OEM spark plugs. Anything else and you're introducing a variable that will make troubleshooting next to impossible, IMO. In your case you should be running NGK BKR6EKUB, assuming your A6 is a V6 3.0L 30V.

Did see that>>
wasn't sure I had much of anything to contribute. I agree with the comment about trying copper plugs with the StgIII kit. You'll still only get 5 or 10K miles out of them but at least it'll be much less expensive. A broken coilpack harness seems like a bit of a stretch if new plugs aren't misfiring but the old ones are.
