Default Don't get me started.....

i've got a box full of stuff needing to get on the car - but it's always the little things that hold the installs up.

Default I'm not totally convinced it was the FMIC - but that was one of the differences

between the our two cars. Could be alot of things.

Default I don't suspect it - we have plenty hot temps here >

and no real evidence it contributes to elevated water temps with hard running - not that I haven't been experiencing some minor heat issues of my own, but their onset is more recent and wasn't related to the fmic install, which I've had for years.

With extreme running the oil will of course heat up considerably and the oil-water exchange won't be able to scrub all it's heat off; might be the water is picking up it's rise in temp from the excess oil temp and no amount of unobstructed flow will cause it to lower - more oil (larger filter/reservoir) and/or oil cooler seems like the prescription, for my 2 cents.

Default Mine did EXACT same thing once i added my old Forge FMIC!!

i really think the radiator is too blocked with that shaped unit. the Del Rio fmic is much shorter and has NOT ever moved my needle from dead center.

Default the DR I've seen is thicker than the Forge and not all that different in height >

maybe I'm mis-recollecting, and maybe it sits 'slightly' lower but I'd be surprised if it made all that significant a difference it terms of elevating or reducing temperatures. If there's significantly more 'free area' then it would likely be less efficient, so I don't think the answer is there either.

Default I thought the DR was about 1/2 the height of Forge or O.CT, but much thicker?

Same surface are, but leaves more radiator surface area open to non-heated air?
