Default S-tronic gearbox?

I got a copy of "Autocar" the Brit weekly a little while back that said next year's TT VR6, the next generation Passat, and the Audi S3, would have a twin clutch 6-speed transmission that was "in sequential mode as fast as a manual and in automatic mode as smooth as an automatic". Is this really the "S-tronic" gearbox? Does it work like BMW's SMG? (Drove an M3 with SMG last weekend with a friend who is looking for a 911 alternative. It was a blast and I really enjoyed SMG when I hadn't expected to.)

Does anyone know any more about this?

No big whoop - a hydraulically activated clutch, like Ferrari's F1 tranny or BMW's SMG.
