Default Saturday detail & new product report....

OK just completed the ritual. 3 new (to me) products added to the inventory, all available from Pep Boys :
1. Detailer's Choice Shampoo Wash Pad. Cut the wash cycle time by at least 50%.
2. The Absorber. Chamois no more, this thing is awesome !! Great for removing those pesky water spots that you missed the first time.
3. Stoner's Invisible Glass. Not very exciting, but seemed to do the job. I'll know next time I have the early-morning sun directly in front or behind.

While I was Vinylex-ing the engine covers, my neighbour strolled over and commented that Pat & I seem to spend a lot of time caring for our vehicles. I drew his attention to the fairly pristine 17-year-old BMW in the garage, and said "Yeah, why do I bother? I buy a new car every 20 years whether I need to or not."

Default Richard, you should buy cars more often. People like you put AMC out of business! BTW,

Tell me some more about those first 2 things. What is the shampoo pad made of?

OT: I gave you bad info on that new Hackett CD, it's not Fish on some of the lead vocals - it's John Wetton. Also, the title track "Watcher of the Skies" is worth the CD alone.

Go get it now. Don't make me drive out to England because the RE040s aren't great on water!

Default Joel, the shampoo pad is "Super Sudsing Dense Chenille Pile" sewn over an absorbent sponge....

Seems to me I remember a girl named Chenille Pile, who was also pretty dense, and a PITA :-) But, I digress....The Absorber has been mentioned here before, it's a synthetic chamois-like towel, and a possible title for Ah-nald's next movie.

Yes, we are Detroit's worst nightmare, here are the new cars we've bought in the last 30 years:

Me : '77 Alfa, '82 BMW, '84 BMW, '01 Audi
Mrs.B : '73 Pinto (really!), '87 Camry, '99 Ranger

The CD will be ordered forthwith !

Default I usually draw the neighbors attention when drying my car

this is because I've been using the leaf blower technique. I've even had a few cars stop to watch. It takes a bit longer than the Blade or towels, but it requires a lot less effort.

Default My neighbors are used to it. The guy a few doors down offered me his minvan

title for title for the TT. When I refused he said he throw in his two kids. Yeah right! LOL

Default There's something that works better than Stoner's IG if you want a clean windshield...

Just allow a big, ugly rock to chip your windshield and then let your full-glass coverage take it from there.

Actually, I found Zaino's glass cleaner/polish to do a good job of fixing the small pitmarks you get in a windshielf after many miles. For the daily cleaning though Stoner's does it right.
