Read the article. Seems like the quattro would not be affected. Also I agree with Audi that it is a matter of learning how to handle your vehicle. Seems rather overblown to me.

After using Babelfish to translate this, it doesn't sound too good. But it still doesn't specify which cars--does this problem refer to "ALL" TT's? Is it more of a problem on the FWD's? Does anybody know? It mentions "some cars" being not prepared to receive ESP as a fix, and therefore must be left alone. That implies that some cars are prepared? Can someone shed more light on this?

Default Here's the translation--such as it is...

Audi TT has serious chassis problems

The Audi TT breaks out obviously in fast driven curves very easily in the back. Now the electronic stabilization program (ESP) is to be inserted. However not into the 37,000 models already sold.

Hamburg -
Audi TT: Sports car with centrifuge effect?

The most serious problem with the TT chassis consists of it that it reacts particularly sensitively with sudden load change, reports the " asterisk ". One brakes in fast driven curves with a mark, then break out the sports car stylized to the cult auto in the back. A cause for it is that the wind raises the tail of the TT more strongly than with comparable auto. To this handling some hundred accidents are to be due, continue to be called it in the page.
The reproaches are not quite new. Already for some weeks TT owners on a Website (http://www.tt owners club.de/)discuss the strange handling of their auto. The firm head office in Ingolstadt sees the error rather with the drivers. " we with Audi are the opinion that we built a high-quality sport chassis; it nevertheless gives to TT owner for those the chassis interpretation is unusual ", mentioned the manufacturer on mentioned Website. For those customers, who could accept not the handling of the TT or wanted, one offers starting from the 50. Calendar week ESP on - however only for new distribution. The drivers from cars already delivered could let different Stabilsatoren at the expense of Audi re-tool however, insure press speaker Rudolf Schiller. " a subsequent installation of ESP into not in series not prepared vehicles is not practicably, there it around a system of highest complexity concerns themselves ", continues to say it however. Pitch for approximately 37,000 TT owners. The resale value of their vehicles might decrease quite substantially, because their vehicles are not prepared for ESP.

Thanks Koo,
My friend was in my TT when the car fishtailed
violently. He has a Honda Prelude and I have
beenin his car many times and never once did
it react the way mine did at same speed.
He was really suprised. Especially when the TT
is suppose to be a great handling car.
Thanks again for the translation.
Richie
