Default Should I reopen the under-dash valence and check/re-tie?

I've been thinking overnight about the place where I secured the wiring harness for my V1 and I'm wondering if I should open the area and look it over. When looking under the dash toward the firewall, there is a steel tube there that turned out to be an ideal place to secure the V1 wiring harness because I could easily put a tie wrap around it. Now I'm wondering if I've attached to something mechanical that will be impeded by the tie wrap and the wiring harness. Does anyone know what this is that I speak of?

I know the answer here, BTW, that I should reopen the area and review just to be safe, but I'm wondering if anyone here can provide further info. I wasn't even thinking mechanical moving parts under the dash when I was in there. Duh!!

Was it horiz. to the front, or vert.? If vert., it may be the steering column, or part of it!

I don't remember a *horizontal* tube near the firewall.

Default If it was in door to door orientation, not hood to trunk, and it is about the size....

of a muffler pipe, it is a reinforcemnt bar for the dash/firewall...very similar to a triangulated roll bar section.....

If this sounds right, then I think you are ok...

I also was very careful about running wires/ tubing under the dash when I put in my gauges for fear that I might interfere with the steering column adjustability.

Default This was smaller in diameter than that and bright, like unpainted stainless or aluminum

I really think I'm going to open it back up and double-check anyway. At least I thought of it before I took it out for a drive somewhere. It spends most all of its time in the garage these wintry days.
