The only problem is when people abuse OT
And as stated previously that's a judgement call.
I just saw a post "what did I miss?"
It was marked OT. Now is that a good use of AW resources? Do you feel enriched and ready to cheer on the Audi community and spend money with advertisers after having read that particular OT thread (or 100's of others like it?)
The answer is most certainly NO. Nobody is going to take away OT, but we are going to stop it from being a waste of resource and a chat system (which it is not).

Whoa! Hey, I didn't want anyone to take this personally, Jason: As I said above I think you people
generally do a bang-up job. If you perceived that I spoke from some presumptious knowledge of your intentions - I apologize and certainly did not mean to. Rather, I meant to state what I thought your intentions or directive should be, by using words like, "I really think the group AW should aim to appease is... ." Take my opinion for what it is - free feed back from the "customer" part of this service industry of yours.

Tell that to the rest of the forums
the only noobs who get treated crappy here are the one that waste bandwidth with street racing drivel or illegible posts. I have seen numerous newbs thank the forum in the past week alone for the advice offered.
FWIW I think the FS policy is spot on where you miss the post is your general attitude towards this forum. Lots of spending power here. If you do too much your impressions and uniques views on this forum will drop like a rock, most likely going to the competition.
Like any good publisher listen to what your customers want (within reason of course). And communicate effectively or they could subscribe to another venue.
Just my .02 (with a bit of ad sales exp thrown in)
