Default Source for cheap winter wheels?

Can anyone recommend a source for a set of take-off wheels (steel is fine) that will work for snow tires on an '04 1.8T Roadster? The bolt pattern matches various Chryslers, GMs, Subarus, and VWs, but I'm concerned about clearing the brake rotors. Especially on the 14" Chrysler and GM wheels.

Thanks!

Try looking on CL or FB for sale...lots of wheels for sale. As for clearance, if I were you, I wouldn't run anything less than 17" wheels.

I love FB and CL. That's where I found the car in the first place.

What I'm asking for are which make/model/year wheels are known fits. Narrow (5"-6.5") is better.

Call Tire Rack and buy from them. Steel wheels or cheap aluminum. I bought $89.00 aluminums from them in december 2005 I still use for winter. They were out of steel ones at the time which would have been way cheaper too.

Some of you snow belt guys verify but I recall some using steel wheels from New Beetles or Golfs. Should be readily available and inexpensive.

I picked up a set of steelies that came off a late-model Subaru Impreza. Came with a set of snow tires that will last a season or two. Only $40.

The center bore was a tiny, tiny bit too small, so I widened it with a file (took about 10 minutes) and they went right on. Maybe a couple millimeters to spare on the calipers.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have actually been looking at the Vossen VFS-1's and I really like the style. I am not familiar with the brand at all and don't really know if my tires will even fit on the them. Is there an easy way to figure that out? My problem with getting all new tires is that less than a month ago I bought a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's in 235/35/19. My insurance is going to pay to replace the tires because they were damaged as a result of the accident, even though they are covered under warranty and Discount Tire has already ordered the replacements in. I spent a lot of money on those and would rather have my stock wheels replaced with the same then to have to buy tires again for aftermarket wheels.

It took a lot longer than I expected but the insurance company finally approved my claim. I will be ordering the rims most likely tomorrow and I am still split on which color to go with. The rims I plan to order will be 19" 8.5w Vossen VSF-1's but I am a little worried that the slightly wider than stock width will make my 235/35/r19 tires look a little stretched, any thoughts?
