Speaking of accidents, here's an update on mine...

Some may recall that I was involved in an accident with a motorcycle on 10/26. My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks now, and I sure hope that I get it back soon!
I recently found out that the motorcycle rider sustained a broken ankle. He had pins put in his ankle, but there was some sort of problem and they had to re-do the surgery again about a week ago, which undoubtedly sucks.
Unfortunately for him, at the hospital, the Doctor smelled a strong odor of booze and told the officers this. They evaluated the guy, and believed that he was drunk. So a lab tech came out and drew blood and the police requested that a "notify warrant" be issued charging him with DUI.
In CA, if he is convicted of DUI, he cannot sue or recover general damages, such as pain and suffering. However, he can recover damage to his motorcycle, medical expenses and such.
Meanwhile, the auto body shop has told me that they will continue to pay for my rental if the duration of repair work runs longer what my insurance pays for. I have about a month of rental car coverage, but at their current pace, it's looking as if I might need to take them up on their offer.
So that's the update. Looks like I'll be driving the Nissan for another week or two. Oh, and if you own a motorcycle, sell it! Those things are dangerous!

Sell my bike? Are you out of your mind?
Motorcycling is one of the greatest experiences you can have in your lifetime....If you have never leaned a sport bike down to feel the footpeg feeler on the pavement as you speed through a corner then you haven't lived in my opinion....If I meet my maker on my bike so be it, at least I will die happy....
