Steve (TTSchwing) or others...what tools would I need for spring/shock install?

Mine too. Drove the car only about 50 miles after install. You'll need >>>
to make sure you've got a thin wall socket to get the nut off the top of the front strut. I believe that may have been an 18mm, which was one of the "surprise" sizes to me. The other usual tools required: Strut compressor, metric wrenches, long pry bar (to persuade your rear suspension to cooperate), bungee cord (to suspend the front calipers while hanging), floor jack, jack stands (installed on your jack points - NOT THE PINCH WELDS), microbrew (in moderation 8) ), etc...
On the alignment. Having witnessed hundreds of them, I believe that 20-30 agressive miles is enough to set your suspension in. Some hard cornering, braking, acceleration, should do the trick. If you wait too long, you won't have any rubber left on your front tires. Also, you'll want to see where your camber settings end up in the rear. We installed my H&R's without a camber kit in the rear. Camber was well out of specs, and in fact the toe was also just a tick out of specs, even after maxing out the toe adjustment in the rear. I believe that adding the camber kit will bring the toe back into spec. Steve or Marcus can tell you if that's the case. The camber kit will be my next purchase.
FWIW.
