Default Strange noises under the hood... perhaps car is posessed?

I've been reading around on here and found some posts on honking noises being made by DV's and things, I'm wondering if my noise is perhaps the same thing. Here's the deal...

@ about 2200-2350 RPM when cruising (not when accelerating hard) a lowish, droning, honk noise will rise... it's defineatly audible, but not "LOUD". Meaning I can hear it pretty clearly over the traffic and music (I don't play my music that loud though, about vol 10 on the stock unit). I can make it go away by accelerating slightly or braking and slowing down.

What is this noise?

Default More than likely a DV based on your description>>>

subtle loss of boost would be another symptom..

Default Same thing my car has been doing...

But it's seemed to go away for the most part. I just put in a Forge DV-R which seemed to make it louder. But I haven't noticed it in the past few days...

Sounds like the DV. Time for a Forge 007

Default torn or worn out motor mount bushings? i had a partly torn motor mount

bushing on the pendulum...i suppose that if it was completely broken through, i would hear some engine rumbling or some type of noise due to the motor shaking back and forth.

the engine would tend to make less noise at higher rpms....lower rpms would tend to make more noise.

that's my take on your noise.

No, there's no pulsing at all. It's steady, like a slow, low trumpet noise.

Default It started around when I installed the TTDA... So I thought it might just be a wind noise through

the intake for it (I don't have hoses run, cuz it's a 225 and I don't have the time to dismantle my front end.)
