Default Stuttering issues...came back from vacation and notice a stuttering issue when stomping

on the gas and building up boost. searched the forums and see that ePuffy and JohnLZ7W had similar issues.

plugs were changed about 1,000 miles ago along with oil and filter (not that they have anything to do with it). car ran fine before taking a week off. today, the stuttering is less...could be moisture in the tank, although i have a full tank...but i put that in after coming back. that's what i'm guessing, given the fact that the stuttering is alot less today than yesterday. when it first occurred, it felt as though a coilpack was ready to go.

coilpacks were swapped out 12K miles ago, or close to that. if that were the case, would it be preventative maintenance to swap all coilpacks out and see if the stuttering is still there?..or wait for complete coilpack failure.

MAF also was changed out last year...not to say that it couldn't also be the culprit. the car runs fine under slow boost conditions, like up to 20psi...but beyond that, mashing on the gas...the stuttering starts. like i said, its not as bad today...so my guess is moisture in the gas (due to the weather conditions when i was gone...it was in the teens and 20's...half tank of gas).

i'll give it a few more days and see what happens.

Default Pull the codes and see if it is misfiring on all cylinders or just a couple

I'd think bad gas would cause misfires everywhere. If it's just a couple of cylinders I'd check the coilpacks.

Default You might try singing instead of stomping

I had a friend who would stuttttttter and he couldn't overcome it unless he sung. Then, no stuttering. None of us could ever understand it.

Any codes? Does disconnecting the MAF make it go away?

Default no codes. didn't drive it with MAF disconnected...but won't that reduce the actual boost

levels? or does the car adapt to normal?

It will reduce boost, but if it smooths out the stomping; i.e., eliminates the stutter, it could it.
