Default Successful thermostat replacement today (whew!) >>

Thanks to RafaTT for the great write up (see URL below). Yes I was one who had the Wahler thermostat as part of the ECS kit and the car showed it was running hot. I did this mod in conjuction with the EvoShield phenolic intake spacer mod (not good so far, I think a vacuum leak needs to be tracked down) but the thermostat is in! Of course I have not run the car much to tell you if it's still running hot or not. (I'll post on that later.) Not really easy, the bottom 10mm is a real bear to get out and get back in. Just takes patience and sometimes another pair of hands (thanks Mike!).

Default Thanks, I wonder if one I got with my ECS' timing belt kit is same as yours

Why would the one they provide have a different temperature spec? did you find out from them to send you another one in case it was defective?

Default This has been discussed at great length recently . . .

Yes, ECS uses the Wahler thermostat.

Default You almost certainly have the "hot" one as well. See Rafatt's excellent

description of the issue at the link below.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1303829.phtml">Rafatt's Thermostat Sleuthing</a></li></ul>

Default Thanks, haven't been checking the forum lately

I guess I'll keep that new Wahler thermostat in the box and keep the stock in there for now...
