Default Suggestion for keeping snow and salt off your carpet...>

I'm a little **** when it comes to keeping my car clean, well actually keeping everything clean...but, I came across this roll of carpet protection film at Home Depot last month and figured it would be worth a try in the TT. Those who have used the Audi rubber floor mats know that they don't offer a lot of protection for the carpet; I always got a puddle below the dead pedal in my A4. I have been using it for the last month underneath my winter mats and my carpets have stayed completely clean and dry. The instructions say to remove it after a month, so I thought I would share a pic. The only thing I did differently for this application was use a little packaging tape to keep it stuck to the door sill.

Get some good rubber mats and understand that even the TT is a car.

Default agreed....

a nice car but still a car. I park in the regular lot, get it machined washed, and all kinds of other travisties.

Life is too busy to spend all my time worrying about how perfect my car is.

Default I actually have the Audi mats, I just don't like my carpet looking like a salt mine

If you like having a dirty car that is fine. I've been using winter mats for a few years in my old A4 and every spring I have to shampoo the carpet which sometimes requires removing the front seats, thought I would try a different approach this year. And yes, I do realize the TT is just a car, I just like to take care of my stuff.

Default that's fine, no worries ---->

Not meaning to criticize you, hey you could be in the the majority here. If I had the time for it, I could possibly be a bit more... aggressive in keeping my car clean.

I'm in MN where they stockpile salt along the major roads. I use the winter mats and also vacuum the floors every couple of weeks. Its not perfect but for me it's a time/cost - benefit thing.
