A tale of two Audi TT's....... (long/rant)
This is the tale of two TT's (say that ten times fast).
The first is a beautiful machine, the kind that leads
to a big grin and a little excitement every time you
sit in it and prepare to drive drive away. The kind that
hauls *** at 110+ down the straights at Sears
Point. The kind that leads you to take
photo after photo after photo when you're taking a driving
class just to get some shots of this amazing car in action (see link below).
The kind that makes you clean it every week at a minimum
(or every day for some of you), and worry about every
scratch and dent that no one else would ever possibly
notice.
Then there is the other machine. The one that lives at the
shop. The one that every time the dealer hands it back,
is "definitely fixed". The one that wipes that grin off
my face as I'm sitting there trying to get it moving while
the impatient bay-area cellphone addicts honk and
gesture behind me, while I ponder the consequences
of a trade-in.
The one that exhibits a problem repeatedly
until a tech test drives it, who looks at me like I'm an idiot
who doesn't know how to drive a stick.
This is the machine I have today. Well, Audi, I'm sending
you a nice letter, and I'm hoping that at some point in
the future I will have the first one back, with or without
your help.
