Default My opinion is that we do not yet have enough data. We can only hope so and continue to monitor.

Default Problems seemed to be associated with 5 sp tranny not the 6 spds on 225s

Default Early on we tried linking the VIN numbers to the problem and it wasn't conclusive. I'm #2637,

will have had my FWD a year as of this June 22, and I haven't had any grinding at all. People with much later VIN's than mine have had the grind. I personally think that they have a quality control problem and there are big batches of bad trannies because of parts tolerance issues.

Default As an example, I am #4949, delivery June 26, 1999 and I had a tranny problem...

albeit a minor one that was corrected with synthetic gear oil of a different weight than stock. This was a dealer-corrected item, not my own "idear".

My tranny has been great since. 12,000 miles on her this week.
Ivan
