Two thoughts...
If you fit in an A4 1.8T with sunroof, you'll DEFINITELY fit in a TT. The TT has much more headroom than a 911, which my father (6'2") fits in barely (he fits in a TT fine).
Many here drive 80+ miles per day... either become a telecommuter or enjoy the drive. What else can you do?

Check to see whether you fit. A lot depends on where your height is. For example, most of my height is in my legs, so I fit fine headroom-wise but I have to operate the clutch with the side of my left leg or slam my knee into the back of the steering wheel. Likewise, my right leg presses pretty firmly into the (thankfully, padded) center console brace. Nothing TOO uncomfortable, but I'm only 6'0...
(By comparison, I fit comfortably in a 98 A4 1.8TQ, and I unfortunately look over the TOP of the window in a Boxster with the top down...)
