Default Tires, Tires and more Tires

Hello everyone,
I recently hit 30K and my dealer explained that it was time for new tires.
So much to choose from. My 01TTQC came with Pirelli 6000's. My local tire shop said "don't use those use these, all the Porsches do" They were referring to Michilen pilot sports; anbout 100 dollars more than the Pirellis.
What I want to ask is which of the two should I get. But since I know better Let me ask this:

"What do you run and why?"
I live in california and like to occasionally drive assertively; curves mostly.

I would appreciate any recomendations, advice with pros/cons
Thanks
OBG

Default Pilot Sports have been very good.....

Edgeracing .com has them at a good price if you are considering them. I have a couple of track days and a lot of canyon driving on them.

Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions: because they have stunning wet AND dry grip.

Chris is right... S03's are fantastic tires. I have 15K on mine now... will buy them again.

Default My TT came with Pilot Sports - love them

They have great traction wet and dry from my experience.

I actually miss them right now since I just swapped them out for snow tires.

Default Yep. S-03s rock. (note Michael and I agree on a purely performance related issue)!!

We're not exactly on the same page when it comes to keeping the TTs quite as clean and he seems to know a little more about that moving stuff under the hood - but we agree on tires!

Default If you're not tracking the car, not doing autocross and only.....

occasionaly drive 'aggresively' I wouldn't spend the extra $400.

Heck, I've had my P6000's out at the track a couple of times and was pleased with them once they got hot.

I am, however, going to upgrade to something stickier in the near future.
