Default too much boost on stock software?

225 tt quattro, just had a defi mechanical boost gauge installed and it peaks 22psi and drops down to 20. It seems really high, what is wrong with my car?

All I have is an exhaust and hks bov.

Default That's got nothing to do with Max boost (unless it's leaking)...>

You can lose boost through a BOV/DV, but you can't gain it..

Default It's either chipped or..>>

The gauge is bad. Another scenario could be a bad hose between the N75 and the wastegate. A leak here will result in higher than standard boost numbers. 14-15psi is max with a stock ECU.

Default Speaking of stock boost...

In the model guide (here on AudiWorld) for the 2005 and under TT's it shows max boost for the 225 to be 2.1 bar which relates to just under 31psi. Is this just indicating the max boost the engine can handle, or is this actually what the engine (stock) could put out under some circumstances? BTW, it shows the 180 as 1.8bar max.

Gotta subtract 1 bar for atmosphere so it's really 1.1 and .8
