Default Trouble programming keyless entry....

I put new batteries in the keyless entry remote but I can't get it to work. I followed the instructions in the manual to re-sync the system but I didn't get a response from the remote. If anybody can tell me how to get the remote to work, I would greatly appreciate it!

Default Following the manual, you pushed the open button, once, on the fob, then .......

unlocked/locked the door with the key, right? That always seems to work for me.

Default I have the same problem. I could only get one key fob to program.

so i went to the dealer, they tried to fix it, but found out that my central locking unit had gone bad, but they quoted my at 500$ to fix it. needless to say i still havent fixed it. now the other key fob is started to go in and out. so i probably brake down and get it fixed soon. Its not like i really need it though, car still locks, opens, and starts.

Default That's wierd that the Central Locking Unit went bad, but one fob still worked......

Don't know much about it but you would think both fobs would work the same and the locking unit wouldn't know the difference between the two.

Default true, but now the other one is working on and off,

From what the Tech at U.P. audi in dallas told me, that it does know the difference, just like how even if you have a key cut for your car, it still has to be programmed to it or it wont start the car. Down the road im goin see if i can find a used one, i cant justify spending 500$ on the C.L.U, especially when the key still locks the doors.

Thanks for all your help guys, but I couldn't get it to work. I'm taking it in Friday, under the certified used car warranty, to have the stealer fix it. I'll let you guys know what is wrong with it.

Problem fixed. It was the central locking unit. The stealer fixed it under warranty.
