Default TT R.I.P.

On a road trip through Nevada yesterday my oil pan was holed, I lost all my oil very rapidly and cooked the turbo and possibly the main bearings too.

A long sad tow home and now I'm waiting for the damage diagnosis.

I love this little car. So sad to see it off on the flat bed to the dealer tonight.
ChrisTTopher Lloyd

Too soon to tell, but probably it will be insurance, not warranty...because it wasn't a "manufacturing defect"

The short version of the story is I hit a load of stuff that had fallen off a truck (I guess) at high speed. Something, probably one of the scrap iron parts, smashed the plastic undertray (massive hole and gash in it) and make a BIG hole in the sump. Almost instant catastrophic loss of oil.
ChrisTTopher Lloyd

Default Oh geez!

That definitely sounds like an insurance thing. That really sucks for you. I hope everything works out okay. I hope my trip tomorrow isn't so poorly-climactic. Good luck with everything, and keep us posted.
