TT from UK

Hi - I'm new to AudiWorld. Seen and read lots from across the pond but not much from the UK. This is my new TT Coupe. Denim Blue with Light Grey Interior. Chipped by Superchips. Stainless steel exhaust by Milltek. 18" x 7.5J RSR Alloys with 235/40 Pirelli P Zeros. Originally 225 - now rolling road tested to 265 bhp and 270 lbs ft. It goes quite well!
As an aside, has anyone had a problem with the stereo? It emits a high pitched wine with the engine on or off - Audi can't seem to trace problem

Nice looking car. A couple of questions:
1. What is the small red badge on the front grille? US versions don't have this.
2. Did you do a brake modification or paint your calipers?
As far as the radio noise, this seems to be common, I get a morse code like noise, especially on AM band.

I also changed mine with 8x18" Oettinger rims & Bridgestone S-02, but stayed with 225/40. Besides, I'm thinking about lowering the suspension for a better handling & appearance, but I'd prefer to check with the dealer first.

Re: Special Paint for brake cover...
I checked with my service garage, there is a special paint can stand for high tempature, lots of choice in colour, and they won't charge extra but only the paint if you are going to have a brake service with them.

Wow, your wheels ROCK! Some questions...
Those have to be the nicest wheels I've ever seen on a TT! May I ask how much they costed ya? Also, the cap in the middle with Audi rings, did you just pop them off from the stock wheels and stick em on the Oettingers?

Oettinger rims, ... >>>
It cost me around US$4,200 (both rims & tyres), but will vary since there is no local distributor in Hong Kong & I have to order from the dealer in Singapore. The first time I saw, I made my decision to get it since it is specially built for Audi or VW only, you can visit their web site. The cap in the middle can be replaced with any made, and yes, the Audi one on mine was actually came from my stock wheels and it can be easily exchange if you don't mind to take down the wheels.

http://www.oettinger.com</a

Re: Nice looking car. A couple of questions:
The badge comes from the RS4 with the 4 removed (it just peels off)- the fitting is identical to all other grille badges. The tailgate badge from the RS4 (again with the 4 removed) sits where the quattro badge used to be - just looks a bit different!
I am considering a brake modification but for now the callipers are simply painted with a special two pack lacquer. It's very tough, doesn't chip or fade and, again, looks a bit different!

Re: TT from HK
I've checked re lowering the car. Audi seem to be completely paranoid about any modification whatsoever! I've got a set of Eibach springs due to arrive this week (they've been available for the 2WD car for some time but are only due for realease for the 4WD this month). The springs will lower the car by approx 27mm. Not a huge amount but should certainly give the car a more aggressive stance. Cost of the springs in the UK is £115,00 for the set plus approx £100.00 for fitting.
