Default Two things you don't quite know what to do when you wake up to them.

Or, things you hear as a new Daddy.

1) 2:45AM 'Go find the toliet plunger, don't fix it because you'll get sick, just find it and hold her'

2) 5:30 AM 'Here, take her, I've not slept yet'

Little Becca has decided to be very cute, and very awake her first night home. But somehow, we survived, and we still like her. Must be the woken up for short periods of time causing amnesia.

All she has to do is blink at you and all is better. I hope to take some pictures of her in the TT tomorrow if it's still 75 degrees and sunny.

Boy am I behind in reading posts. Where's Jenner's killer summaries when you need them?

Default there's an old saying--they learn to smile just in time to prevent being thrown out a window*

this is a joke, of course, and I know it's a cruel one, but those sleep-deprived new parents out there should know that it does get better in a few months--er, years.

Congratulations, it's a great new life!

Default the most important thing becca can learn in the first couple of months of life is...

that people sleep at night and play (or whatever) during the day...you will be much happier after she learns that.

Default We were up a lot with our first one, less with our second, and even less with 3rd, secret inside:

You have to keep in mind that humans of all ages are really very durable. Expect that your little one will need a really good feeding every 3 or 4 hours or whatever interval that the experts predict. Then, and here is the real trick, when she wakes up one hour after feeding, just lay in bed with your wife and listen to your babe for at least 15 minutes before you go get her. More than likely she'll fall back asleep and you will too. This help train her properly, though realize that it is impossible to spoil a newborn.

It really helps if your baby's room is far enough from your master bedroom that you can accomplish this advice. It will be impossible if your baby is sleeping too close to where you and your wife are sleeping.

Now I'm sure other "experts" will correct me ;-)
