Default Very Random Limp Mode. ????

Car will limp on hard accel. Happens in any gear but seems to happen more in 3rd and 6th. Sometimes it wont happen for days. If I Let off the gas for 5 seconds, punch it again, NO LIMP, Full boost. HOW???? I thought that once the car went to limp you had to clear the code before full boost again. its an 01 225Q, has modshack BM and VTDA, stock N75, and the ever popular APR R1 DV. Its fine 99% of the time and holds 17lbs of boost no prob. TIA!

REALLY make you look like an A$$ in those random stoplight drags when your trying to hoon it up, you hit third and some lame bone stock VW r smokes you :-(

Default Probably a bad MAF..>>

Common to go into soft limp when their output can no longer support acceleration demands.

Definitely NOT the N75. That's just a dumb solenoid that does what the computer tells it to. In this case the computer is telling it to dump boost cause it's not getting enough fuel.

If you have access to a VAG, check Block 32. YOu can also unplug the MAF and have the ECU default to the built in fuel maps. if it runs fine doing that, replace the MAF. You'll get a CEL with the unplug, but don't worry...it'll eventually clear, though you should manually clear the codes you have now..

Default Sounds similar to the problem I was having. I thought it was my coilpacks, which I guess it was

indirectly. Turned out to be the gap on the plugs I put in. I set them too large. Changed plugs recently? Shoot for 0.028-0.032". Mine ranged from 0.034 to 0.040" when I took them out, and the one at 0.040" was the one causing me problems. Only happened on heavy accel/high boost, and would sometimes throw a CEL, sometimes not, sometimes a flasher that went away.

Check the wiring to the N75 - very flimsy.

Default Broken wiring will result in permanent limp...>>

Non-functioning N75 defauts to an equilibrium Boost pressure of 5 PSI or so.

Happened to me. Unplugging MAF will stop the limp.

Default Nope changed plugs and packs last year......

properly gapped. never any problems. I haven t recently done anything but a Zaino detail. Just started happening 2 weeks ago. FWIW i do seem to have some sort of electrical gremlin i fear. Front parking lights burnt out (or so i thought) over a year ago. They have recently both started working. Drivers window stopped working 2 months ago, yesterday i was going to take it in for warranty repair and now it is working fine. Lastly the center light stopped working shortly after the window crapped out. I left for work last night and it came on when the door was opened. Left for home in the AM. Zilch! The open door icon in the display always works as it should. Is this just the door switch or a (GASP!)short somewhere in the middle? Battery has also been replaced >1yr ago.

Yeah I Know.

SELL IT!!! or DYNAMITE!!!!!!!! or Welcome to the pleasure of owning an AUDI
