Default VW MAF installed and working well...>>

I installed it earlier today in my 2000 TTQC. When I looked, the housing was the same size as the stocker, aside from the fact that the VW one was a bit longer. Cool thing is that my CEL turned off...Still need to get a VAG to clear the DTC though. Part #06A906461A. Hmm the "A" maf sells for less than $40 at vw dealerships. Might as well pick it up locally for 50% less.

Default i'm swapping my MAF as I type this.....question...

i have a 2k TTQC 180HP, i noticed the same thing, VW housing same size but a bit longer, so the hose doesn't fit snug against the MAF. new VW MAF is in now. i unplugged my ECU, and am waiting for 30 minutes to plug it back in. my car has a Neuspeed chip, not sure if that makes a difference. what do you mean by still needing to clear the DTC if the CEL is off? what is that? how does your car run now? full power? thanks

Default success...wow...does she run strong now...

so i installed the VW MAF in my 2k TT, the dia of the MAF tubes were exactly the same, so no swapping sensors in tubes was necessay. the MAF plug was the same also, the plastic tube on the intake hose side of the MAF was a 1/8" longer with a bit of a taper to it, the hose which has a lip on the inside of it about 1/2" in stops on the tube before it buts up flush with the lip on the outside of the MAF. the hose clamp actually has more surface to calmp on. so it fits fine. there is just a 1/8" gap of plastic showing between the hose and the external lip on the MAF. i had unplugged my ECU prior to starting the MAF swap to let it reset. thanks to all the guys that helped me out with advice last week. after the MAF swap I connected to ECU, turned the ignition on, without starting the car, and let it sit for a minute, per Neuspeed & advice from you guys, then started the car. the CEL went out just as it alsways used to. the car warmed up while I put the plastic wiper cover and weather strip and windsheild wipers back on. then i went for a test drive. WOW! the car actually feels faster than it ever was, really. i'm not sure why. maybe the MAF has been going bad for a while and i had gotten used to the car running poorly? maybe the new VW MAF along with resetting my chipped ECU changed something. i'm not sure what happend but the car rips. Success! I'm going for a ride!
