Having had a lightly tuned VR6 in a Mk 2 Jetta, I am inclined to agree with Marcus.
One had to drive very gingerly, even with a limited slip, to effectively get traction and go. Even auto-x'ing... I could light 'em up going through the slaloms when I got a little too aggressive.
Over 250 whp in a fwd car ain't a great idea, IMO.
