Default Waterfest = Water Fest

Well, what an appropriately named event. I'm sure this is old news to anyone who stayed till the end of the event on Sun, but there was some serious flooding to get through on the way home. Things started out ok, some standing water on the road, but nothing of concern to anyone without a CAI. Then things started to get a bit dicey, water started rising, and I could see the level getting up to the tailpipe level of a friend's R32 - time to pull the TT over for a bit. We waited a few minutes on higher ground, and its a good thing we did, because things just got silly after that. Picture cars stalling out and floating away and firemen going down the street in boats - no joke. Cold air intake or not, I think we pulled over at the right time. Not only that but people began to congregate in the lot talking about circling for hours and not finding a travelable road.
After waiting a few hours and sloshing through knee deep water, we found our way to a bar on foot. That was good enough to kill some time till the rain slowed down and other roads started to open up. I am happy to report that myself, my car, and my new toy (25mm Neuspeed sway) all made it home unscathed. Anybody else get caught up in the flood? I hope nobody got into it too badly, I certainly saw a couple cars that must be totaled from the water damage.

Default It very well could have been...

As I was leaving the event I personally spoke with one of the victims. He only spoke of four at that time. Could be even more by now...

Default I had to make all kinds of detours going South...>

After the hour it took just to get out of the park...

I saw VW's aimlessly driving in circles for the next 30 miles...

My new Nav unit pinpointed the way South after I got lost though!
