We had our first snowfall here on eastern Long Island,
New York ( a suburb of New York City).
Only about an inch but lots of ice, on which quattro is virtually useless.
Oh how I hate the winter!!! Some people here at work actually love winter. What's to love? Bitter cold, wind, ice, snow...phooey!
I guess it would help if I loved to ski.

This is why there are laws in Europe requiring snows on a certain date...
and those laws should probably exist in the US also. It seems that people don't have the sense to get snow tires, even though the manual tells you the stock tires are for summer use only.
Sorry to be harsh, but you must be the 200,000th poster about this over the last couple years.

A tip well taken. I put on a set of Dunlop M2s after reading
posts regarding snow tires on the TT. The consensus seemed to be don't even THINK of driving in the snow without them.

You're not being harsh, just sensible. I do have snow
tires on my 225QR. I was just ranting having driven to work on a bitter cold, windy morning
with patches of ice all over the place.
Ahhhh for a nice, warm spring day. *SIGH*
