Default Know exactly what you mean ...

Here's Sami saying, "Whatduyu mean I can't go outside anymore???!!!!"

Or was that, "I'll EAT any doggie-type things you send my way."

Default You're welcome....and to be different around these parts, you have to be owned by at least 2....

btw I'd run away from any breeder who requires a 'must show' condition of sale - we encountered that when we looking for our Golden puppy.

Default Agree. Allergic reaction is very specific ....

That's why allergy shots for cats and dogs are tough. The safest route is to spend time with the particular animal you're thinking about bringing into the house and see how you (and/or family members) react. I've had shots for years for cats, and literally couldn't breathe around our last cat (forget about touching her with my hands) but never had a problem with our Bengals nor with all of the Siamese cats I had over the years (but that's not to say someone else might).

Default Well... if you want to be different AND non-allergenic.... =D

you know what my consensus is...

Chinese Crested all the way!!!! They are small and manageable, have excellent personalities, and not only are they non-allergenic but the hairless have no 'doggy' smell at all.... plus no grooming! Just bathe them... no hair to brush or dry or detangle.

Personally I think they are cute!!! They remind me of itty bitty miniature clydesdale horses with the mane and tail and the feathered feet.

They are like little clowns, VERY smart.... and they use their feet like little hands.... as they have 'extended' and extra joints in their toes that allow them to 'grip' things like little people almost.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy till they actually meet moms crested... then they absolutely love him!

Default yeck... dont even compare them to a chalupa... errr chihuahua...

why a bigger working type dog?? are you going to be utilizing its abilities water dog? duck hunting?

I hope you have lots of space inside and out.... they are quite hyper and quite large!! A good friend has two and they run and jump around in the house like bucking broncos... which is disconcerting considering all the expensive breakable stuff she has!!!

oh and doesnt being foo foo require hair?

good luck with whatever dog you get.... just remember to please match the dogs energy levels and space requirements with the amount of time, space, play and excersize you can offer it!! Not to mention a breed with a personality that is a suitable match not only to you... but your family as well.

Despite your protest, the chinese crested is decidedly chihuahua like.

Default Comming from a dog show family and knowing not only both breeds

extremely well and owned both, but having friends in the bizz that breed and show both as well... the only thing the two have in common is way back in the far far past they were both used as 'food' at one time or another.

Other than that they are completely un-alike in every category from size, weight, looks, temperment and personality to care and etc.!!

Trust me when I say they are decidedly not chihuahua like.... no more than cocker spaniels are great dane like

Just wanted to clear that up

have fun with your PWS... they are great dogs
