Weird boost issues...

Default Weird boost issues...

It is more annoying than it would be problematic... But a little history, 2000 TT FWD, 74k miles, 180 5sp, turbo xs DV and everything else is stock... I have had this problem with the car since day 1 pretty much... I thought that it would be weather related but happens in all diff types of weather... Sometimes when I get on the boost, it will go to 7-9 psi, then 10 and back down to 8... Other times it will be constant 10 psi... And other times I will be pulling 12-13 psi... That is the highest I have seen it... And the power feels like it is directly related to psi in other words, I can feel a huge diff in 2 psi... Basically between the 8-10 psi and 10-12... Any ideas? I changed most of the vac lines and have no leaks... That all checked good... Thanks guys!!

Default Check these things...>>

Coolant sensor - make sure it's the green top. This has caused all kind of problems.

MAF - could be dying. You will need a VAG-COM to check it out though. However, a quick check is to disconnect the electronics connector and drive it. This will set the computer back to default settings. If the car runs better, chances are the MAF is bad or dying. You might clean it with electronics cleaner (Radio shack sells it) to see if it helps.

A VAG-COM will help dignose most of these problems. A must have tool.

I will look into the MAF, already cleaned it but also I have the blue top sensor, no probs with thos

That silver disclike thing which normally hovers above the Coolant Temp Sensor is the DV right?
