TT (Mk1) Discussion Discussion forum for the Mk1 Audi TT Coupe & Roadster produced from 2000-2006

Well I sold my A4, and picked up an 01 225. So far I am very happy!

Default yep -- JL Audio Subs (2x10") >>

our cars are small enough that you can fire them in any direction and not have weird phasing stuff going on. plus it's all open air anyway.

i would love to redo my setup (it's 9 years old). maybe 1x12 would be fine. what driver do you have?

Default Yeah it sounds good, I just don't like the location.. Alpine type R, happy with the sub, I think a

smaller box is my best solution. Looking at my box more, its around 1.1-1.2 cubic feet, the sub really doesn't need all that room. Might sacrifice a bit of sound w/ smaller box, but there is plenty to spare.

I dunno, I think 2 10"'s probably sounds much better than a single 12", additionally, I think the way you have yours setup is ideal, if it aint broke, don't fix it!

Default a chipped 225 coupe vs a KO4'd A4? Oh yes. Do a few mods on it similar to what a lot of folks

have here, and you'll be looking at mid 13 1/4's based on some results I've seen.

Default Back 5 years ago I had reservations too------>

If buying new today I would want blue again!
Looks great. Welcome to the forum! BTW Chris Smith in Ohio has one just like it. He is an independant Audi mechanic and active with ACNA.

Default Thats what I thought. Trying to keep this car "more stock" but that is a highly relative term..

It looks like chip, intake, and exhaust are the go-to mods here. Intake is kind of surprising (given the A4 background I have), the stock setup just isn't up to the task?!

Default Yeah, I was really close to buying a Cactus green S4, I obviously wanted soemthing different..

Thanks, hopefully it will prove to be as much of a resource as the B5 A4 forum has been for the past 5 years.

What part of OH is Chris in? I'm in Cincinnati.
