What is the buzzing noise from trunk on opening driver's door in a 3.2?

Probably the fuel pump pressurizing the system
Happens if the car's been turned off for any time. When you open the driver's door, the car assumes you're going to fire it up and it starts the electric fuel pump to pressurize the system so you don't have to wait that interminable second once you turn the key.
The pump in my New Beetle is much louder than in my TT, but I suspect the principle is the same.
