Default What a day for the TT...Kinda long.

If you did not read a earlier post, my buddy and I traded off cars for most of the day. He gave me his Stage -3 S4 and I gave him my TT. We did this so he could go get my DV relocate kit installed and have my chip looked at later. Relocating kit looks nice and I feel better throttle response. Found out the chip is in perfect condition. But the shop did notice my MBC was not connected to my N75 race. They suggested to my friend to have me turn down the boost until I can find a setting that I can stick a psi all the way through redline. Side note after my DV was relocated my friend was complaining about my DV being loud and fluttering. I didnt think much of it and thought he wasnt used to it. After work I went to pick up my car at his house and took a look at my DV and my diaphram was torn. I went straight home and swapped out diaphrams. After that I turned down the boost about 3 and a half turns. I still hit 20 as a peak and drop to about 13 at redline. It feels a lot strong but I dont know if it is. I also noticed my DV does not make a "psshhhhhh" sound often now. Would any body be able to explain this? When I gas the car I hear my turbo start to spool, my P-Flow sucking in Air, and the DV is pretty silent and when I let off of the gas the DV make a sound of the air just being releases but not in a "pssshhhhhh" form. My plans for tomorrow is to play with my MBC and try to find a setting where I stick boost up to redline. If this is not possible the Hybrid might be in bad shape. Also I wil check all my hoses and make sure they are on and secured and when Monday comes it will be time to schedule a dyno to see what is happening to my car when I am loosing boost. I can't wait till its running 100%.

Default Dale...You keep throwing parts and Mods at your car...>

Without fixing the undelying problems. Yank that POS Turbosmart MBC out, re-hook up your N75 and see how you are. MBC's (at least the cheep bleed kind) don't work well on our cars as you;ve discovered. I'm betting it'll all come back. You won't hear your DV now because you've moved it up front nd you've got a noisy P-flow on there. Don't worry too much about that. Fix the boost circuit. When you're ready, I'll sell you a real boost ocntroller that works...

Do a search on PimpyyellowTT to see what a hole your digging for yourself.

Default I took a look and saw how I could disconnect the MBC.

Do I take the 2 hoses that are connected to the MBC currently and connect them to the N75? I would like to try this tomorrow, uninstalling the MBC and running only the N75.

Default I have no idea how you have it plumbed in......But...>

The rear port hose off the n75 should go down behind the engine to the wastegate. The hose off the bottom port of the N75 goes over to the metal Turbo outlet pipe going across the top rear of the engine...

Default Steve is right...

I wouldnt add any more variables to your problem. I added alot after my boost problem and its a bitch trying to find out what is wrong. I have heard mixed things about Jacobs hybrid turbos ( from S4 guys) and I dont think anyone has good software for them. My suggestion, get some custom software (see who jacob reccomends) or start demodding to your time of boost loss. I am trying the green top temp sensor to see if it will help, have you tried that? Seems to help around here. BTW on the DV relocation kit, that is the only reason I havnt done it. I love the swoosh BOV sound I get, it turns heads, I heard it goes away a bit with the relo kit.

The Control pressure and Change pressure pipes do not have hoses connected to them.

Default Just got a new green temp and had that installed today also. When I drove it tonight it felt..

Stronger than it has been, but boost still drops like a female dog. It seems like the forum and the 2 shops my friend took my car to told him I should disconnect the MBC and run only the N75 Race I have. Only problem with that is, I dont know what hoses go to the N75. I should have had one of the shops do that while they were looking at the car. The main thing for me is that I figured out why I go to EPC at times and why ir takes a feel trys to start my car at times. The Key immobolizer was the cause of that, so I got my old key out of the safe and will try driving with that. Its always smart to listen to what Steve has to say.

Default That's because the hoses are hooked up to that POS MBC....

They're there, just hooked up to the wrong thing
BTW, Contol pressure port will be the hose from the wastegate, chage ptressure from the metal turbo out pipe. Atmosperic is where it plugs into the rubber turbo inlet pipe.

Default Yeah, have one of the shops pull your MBC...

Your setup sounds a little different...Now shops (or knowledgeable audi owners) do my work. Ive f'd up way too much stuff doing it myself. Maybe have a shop do a smoke test for little leaks also. That could be why boost drops off at high RPMs. And yes, it is very wise to listen to steve...I have learned that the hard way...me and my stubborn ***. My boost problem seems like yours...24 peak, and at 4k it is going to 15psi where is dips to 13 right at the limiter. Arggg. I will let you know if I fix it and how I did it. Could you keep me informed on a fix too, if you find one? Thanks
