Default What is that noise?

This is my first post to this site so please excuse a subject which I'm sure has been covered many times before. I have a 180Q with 16,000 miles...at 4,000 miles I noticed what sounds to me like a 'rattle' noise between shifts...really annoying. The dealer said it was the wastegate popping off and that all TT's have the same noise. Is this the infamous DV problem? If so, which is the better choice, Bailey or Forge?
Some other observations...ABS pump was replaced at 10,000 miles, passenger window motor being replaced now, still waiting for suspension recall kit. Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not.

Default DV or heat shield most likely

Seem to be 2 causes of this on the 180, DV orheat shield. Mine sounded more like a heat shield sort of thing, but was the DV.

Your dealer obviously doesn't drive many TT's. They do NOT all make this noise!

Mine makes the same noise since new.
I replaced the DV last week with the Bailey for obvious reasons. I am confident it is the Heat shield. It is getting worse. Car to go in next week for scheduled service anyways.
