What should I expect w/225C vs. S4?
I went to my dealer and found my Denim Blue/Blue 225QC was indeed there (my apologies once more for calling it a TTR), waiting to be PDI'd.
I haven't yet driven a 225 TT, just a 180 TT and a S4. To be honest, the pure power delivery of the S4 as opposed to the quasi-laggy performance of the 180 has me wondering what to expect when I actually get to drive the 225 (my dealer has never had a 225 demo for those who are wondering.) I know I should expect a bit more lag, due to the larger turbo, but what else?
I have to admit I am pondering the S4 at this point, but will be anxiously awaiting the chance to give the 225C a spin early next week...

Well lets see...
S4 = Monster power, refined, smooth, great handling, plush ride and feel, a sedan (good looking one though).
TT = Good power (225Hp), refined, not as smooth in pwr delivery (lag is noticeable if not driven right), knockout styling in and out, tight and precise handling, fits 2 fewer people in it which could be a plus.
Only you can answer which one fits your personality or needs?

Looking for FUN...
Basically, I've decided to go with a TT or S4 to put FUN back into my driving. There are lots of twisty roads around here, and I want to maximize the amount of "whee" and minimize the time I spend fighting the car.
Power isn't the be-all end-all; if I wanted that I could save $20K and buy a Mustang GT.
I guess I'll just have to wait to test drive the 225 and see whether the S4's power from low RPMS is more seductive than the TT's wait, wait, oh there go the after-burners methodology, or whether the S4 is sloppy enough in corners that it makes even the MkII TT suspension seem snappy...

The TT even with MkII outhandles a stock S4 . . .
The handling comparison is not even close. I hav eonly driven an S4 once and it drove like a sedan. Nothing too special. I am talking about the handling. It handles just slightly better than an A4.
on a track, which is the only place where I have driven my TT along with an S4 it is not even fair. I can catch the S4 in every turn and then he has to let me by on the straights because he gets the blue flag telling him to let me pass! I then just pull away at teh first corner and continue to do so.
You are talking about two differen classes of car. The S4 is all about raw power with 2 turbos, the TT is about being a sports car, not a sedan. You will have more fun in the TT, but will be able to bring your friends with you to enjoy the ride in an S4.
I would get the TT and leave your friends at home! lol

The TT is much more fun and less convenient. So if it is fun
you are looking for the TT is the Car for you. Also, I went through the same thing and decided to get the TT. I couldn't be happier.
