Default What is a throttle body alignment?

What is it, What does it do, how often should it be done, and how do you do it?

Default It syncronizes the throttle body to the gas pedal in a drive by wire car....>>>

TBA's are also done on the non DBW cars too.

Default How does that work? I can see the value of precision mapping flap location...>>>

to other ECU controlled functions for fuel/air delivery, timeing, etc. But how does it work? In a DBW car the flap is actually moved electro-mechanically but on a cable drive is it just a map to the home position?

I can't find any details on this on line.
