I will actually be there that weekend!
I grew up in the Bay Area (Hillsborough), but live in SoCal now. I have season seats to the SF Giants and will there that weekend when they play the Brewers.
Pick a hotel near the SOMA (South of Market) area. Examples would include: W Hotel, Le Meriden, Argent, Westin, Hyatt Regency.
If you're in the mood for sushi, try Ozumo on Steuart Street near the Ferry Building. For your California cuisine, try Scott Howare on 500 Jackson Street. Also, try the Slanted Door in the Ferry Building. For breakfast, try Sears Fine Food on Powell - across the street from Sir Francis Drake Hotel - they have the best Swedish pancakes.
Oh, and if you want to catch a Giants game, let me know. I might have an extra tix.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/115012/kahlifoania.jpg"></center><p>Cruise it up to the Sonoma valley, only an hour north of the G.G. bridge for a taste of some of the fine wines available here, and also for a taste of some of the fine racing available here at Infineon. There is a huge number of racing related shops in the Motorsports Industrial Park, including Stasis Engineering.Because the Indy cars are gathering here for their race on the 26th, wed and thurs are great opportunities to see all this for very little cost.(except for those things that you just have to have from the Book/Sovenir shop,which you must also visit) Those weekends will usually begin to co$t after then, and many shops close during the race weekends.
