Default Why was my car overheating tonight?

ok , so i was on a road that i know i shouldnt have beeen on , and it had a man hole that stuck up like 9 inches off of this brick road, at about 1mph i turtled over it till i got caught... slowely i pulled forward got out and no oil substance, no smell like before, no idle change, yet the temp gauge slowly went up to almost 75% wouldve been redline if there was one.. after about 3 minutes it cooled back down, and i carefully drove home... like i said oilpan is fine, tanny felt fine, whats the deal... anyone with any suggestions? thanks alot

Default Just one word.... Thermostat...

Stands to reason that your Thermostat is sticking and not opening when it is suppose to.
Time for a new one.

Might as well get a new waterpump and change the timing belt while you are in there ;-)
