Window drop on open
Normally, when I open the driver door the window will drop about half an inch, and then when you close the door, it pops back up into place. Mine stopped doing that recently? The passenger door/window still works correctly.
I recently had a mechanic install a stock 6-disc CD Changer in the rear seat slot behind the driver seat... but he wouldn't have done anything with the driver door?
Not sure if that is a co-incidence or not (I'm sure that is what they will claim).
Is there a relay or something that controls that function separate from the same function on the passenger door?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Back when I got the car in August this year, I had to replace the driver door latch, as the door would bounce open if closed to hard, that solved that problem... would that microswitch be part of that part?

Ok, so I fixed the problem! Somewhere along the line the mechanic disconnected the battery... apparently this will disable all of the "convenience" functions on the doors/windows! The Bentley manual has a full page of manual steps that you can follow to re-activate all of those convenience functions.
They include:
- one touch down for Windows by power switch
- one touch up for Windows by power switch
- convenience open with key in driver door lock, hold to unlock and both windows open
- convenience close with key in driver door lock, hold to lock and both windows close
- window pop down 0.5" on opening door
- window pop up 0.5" on closing door

The owner's manual actually describes the procedure for resetting the windows to AUTOMATIC mode. Very simple.
1) Roll the window all the way down
2) Roll the window all the way up and release the switch
3) Press the switch as if rolling the window up again (you should hear a slight thunk as the auto feature reactivates)
You'll need to do it on the passenger window as well.
