Very cool. Would you buy a hardtop if you only drove in summer? I'm trying to decide if I should get

Probably not-If you garage your car and are in fairly...
secure areas the top will probably last a long time. I walk out in the morning to get my paper and if my Suburban is frosted over I take the TT from the garage. I was thinking of a hardtop and then broke my rear window in September. It is an integral part of the hood and cannot be replaced- the whole softpop must be replaced! Replacing the softop was such a time consuming ordeal that I ordered and installed the Hardtop before the softop could be procurred and installed. The hardtop also has storage issues when not in use. Although insurance paid for the new softop my hardtop only cost about $600 more than replacing the softop, so if it extends the life of my top by a few years it may be worth it. Another point is that if you intend to keep your car a long time the hardtop may be a hard to find item in the future when AUDI does a model change.
