Default Because the warranty only goes to 50K. If it breaks out of warranty, you pay them to rebuild your

engine. Audi is an evil, evil company.

Default What I don't understand is why my wifes 1998 Passat with the

1.8T motor has no recommended timing belt replacement interval listed in the owners and maintenance manuals, yet comes with a 10 year 100k powertrain warrenty? Seems ludicrous to me.
